At age 16, Catrinel was discovered by a modeling agent while visiting Bucharest with her school athletics team from Iasi. A few months later, a decision was made and she moved to Bucharest to begin her modeling career.
Catrinel won 2nd runner up in Ford Model's Supermodel of the World contest in 2001. She has appeared in the South African edition of SI (2006), FHM, and Maxim.
She currently resides in Milan and mainly models for lingerie clients worldwide.
