Liisa's modeling career began with her discovery by Audra Anderson of Mode Elle agency when she was 15 years old attending high school. She modeled in Australia for some time before moving to New York.

Liisa's most notable achievement was becoming the Gucci "It" Girl through landing three contracts with the brand in 1999 and 2000.

Liisa has appeared in the 2001 Pirelli calendar.

She has modeled for such brands as: Armani, BCBG, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, and Versace.
