Lily Cole was born in Torbay, England and raised in London with her two siblings. A chance encounter began her modeling career when she was fourteen. She was walking through the streets of Soho when scout-turned actor Benjamin Hart approached her. Cole ran in fear at first, but after being asked if she considered modeling she accepted and signed on with Storm Models.

Cole is featured regularly in top fashion magazines such as Vogue, Numero, 10, Citizen K, and V. She has also appeared on the cover of Numero and twice for British Vogue. In November of 2004, the British Fashion Awards named Lily 'Model of the Year'.

Lily is seen as part of a new wave of models, who have "doll-like" or "elfin" features, along with models Heather Marks, Gemma Ward, and Devon Aoki.

Recently, Lily Cole was picked to star in Phantasmagoria, an adaptation of the Alice In Wonderland stories by Lewis Carroll, which will be directed by rock star Marilyn Manson.
